Almost two weeks ago now, David and I had dinner at his Grandmothers (Nonna) house. She is a very sweet woman, who lives in the oldest quarter of Orvieto. Every day she walks up a very steep hill for grocery's and things. Andrea, Melissa and I saw her on a run once, so she also walks part of the loop around Orvieto, she is very active.
David and I thought that we were going over to help her make dinner, but when we got there she had already prepared everything. She made an antipasto of pate and assorted meats, pappardelle with wild boar sauce (from scratch of course), veal with lemon, salad, and the most unique thing was snails. It was my first time trying snails, the taste was fine, but I couldn't really get over the texture. For dessert she bought a huge plate of assorted pastries and cookies, and we of course astonished when we couldn't eat all of them :)
