Mom's visit, Part 3

It is time to wrap up 2012 now that it is 2013. Many things have happened and I am still blogging about July here :) This this the final installment of my mothers visit.

Thursday was my Birthday, and for dinner we went to Zia Graziella's. She makes amazing pizza and will keep it coming until you leave at least one piece on the plate. Usually dessert is pizza with nutella, but she made me a special tiramisu.

Friday we relaxed during the day and went to watch Bartender play at an amazing restaurant in Baschi called Sala della Comitissa. They always do a special fixed menu when Bartender plays. I didn't get pictures of every course, it was too delicious.

Il coniglio in porchetta, la rosetta di pane al pepe e il gelato

Saturday was David's sister Daniela and Juri's wedding. It was a beautiful and hot day! They had a civil wedding in the Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto and then a huge dinner celebration at Il Corno Rosso. It was a beautiful wedding and fun reception. There was lots of eating, singing and dancing. The bride even sang a few songs. The whole day was wonderful!!!

Sunday we relaxed most of the day. That evening Daniela and Juri had a more casual wedding party for friends and family that they couldn't invite to the official wedding. The wedding had 250 people and the party the next day had about the same. As you can see it was another wonderful feast!

Monday my mom and I spent the day in Florence. We had gone together 12 years before, so it was nice to revisit again. We went into a few churches and shopped of course. The Pitti Palace was closed unfortunately, and our train coming home was late. Over all we had a wonderful day!

Tuesday we spent the day in Orvieto. It was the last chance for my mom to finish her shopping. We also went to the Etruscan Museum in town. We were pretty exhausted from all of our adventures over the two weeks she was here. This was her second time to Orvieto and this time she really got to feel what it was like to live her. It was great for me to have her here and I can't wait until the next time!!!
